At the North Pole

North-pole-pocket  Happy Monday!  I have to confess...if I haven't already... that my life may be a bit more hectic...thus less blogging for the next few weeks.  I have taken on a new job, and may also do some work for my hubby...so I need a bit to get in the swing of changed hours.

In the meantime...I do have a card for you today that I didn't post last week during the sneak peeks for the new releases at All That Scraps.  This card uses the set The North Pole and also a sentiment from one of Amy R'sstamp sets.  Its a simple pocket card, but I also added a panel with the new gotta-have Spellbinders label die to the front.  (This I blame on Lesa!!)

I am out for now...will be back with the blog candy winner from the last post tomorrow!   Thanks for stopping by!

Digi Angels

Baby-angel  Last night was the release of 6 new sets at All That Scraps, as well as a new digi set...Angels Everywhere.  These digi images are really contagious...it is immediate gratification when you purchase the download..then just print that baby off...and NO bleeding when I color with my copics, woohoo!!

I made 2 angel cards yesterday.  They are absolutely precious...there are 7 to choose from...and you can get the details HEREat the ATS blog.  (While you are there I believe Amy will announce the new ATS 2009 DT today)

I colored this little baby angel in to match some new PP I wanted to play with from Bo Bunny...the colors are so soft and baby:)  I also added some sewing to this one, it just needed it and I haven't pulled out the machine in a few weeks.  I used Taylor V'sCupcake sketch for this layout...it was perfect...thanks Taylor!

  • Supplies:

  • Stamps: Digi Angels Everywhere (CC Designs); Boutique Sentiments (AMy R Stamps)

  • Paper: Holiday Cheer PP (Bo Bunny); Soft Sky (CTMH); White (PTI)

  • Ink: Palette Noir, HP printer cart.

  • Accessories: sewing machine; silver styled hodgepodge, sm oval punch, ice circle rhinestone brads, scallop border punch, pink tafetta ribbon (SU!); Stardust glitter pen (Gellyroll); markers (Copic); white gel pen (Uniball)Merry-angel

Here's another angel from the set.  I cut her out and left off the halo and I think she looks a lot like Japanese anime, yeah? (well, not the colors, but the piggy tales) Anyway...she is paired with some Basic Gray Urban Prairie papers and I used the Friday Sketcherssketch for this one.  To paper-piece her dress I printed her out again on the pattern paper...I printed her on computer paper, then adhered a small square of the PP over the image  and ran it back through the printer...thus not wasting my precious paper.

And hey!  guess what the challenge was at Cute Card Thursday?  Fairies & Angels!   Bam!!  OK, I am outta here to find some stampng time while all the kiddos are occupied :)   Thanks for popping in!

All That Scraps Release Party tonight!!

Rockin-glam-girl  CC Designs is rockin!!  Christine has a TON of new sets coming your way tonight at All That Scraps!  The release party starts at 8pm EST in the ATS forum, and the sets will be released at 10pm!

-new Glam Girls III, North Pole, Christmas Around the world from CC Designs (Christine Wooden)

-Cupcake Occasions from Cookie Crumbs (Diane Zechman)

- Soccer Brandon & Sadie, Forest Friends from Stampin' Spot Studio (Jen Olfiana)

I haven't been blogging for a few days thanks to a bugger of a sinus infection and feeling super sluggish...so I have a bunch of cards to show you!  For now...here are 3:)

The first is using Glam Girls III.  I stamped the rocker girl on Vanilla then paper pieced her pants to get just the right denim blue.  The rest of her is colored wiht copics (of course) and then I added a bunch of rub-ons from Crate Paper (from the same kit as the PP...Static collcetion).

Christmas-glam-girlNext up is another Glam Girl...she is all decked out trimming the tree.  I pulled out some old Love, Elsie PP for this one from last Christmas.  The layout is last weeks sketch from SCS...which is actually an old one from Julee Tilman.    For the sentiment I masked it...stamping the first two lines on the circle, and the last line at the bottom of the card.  The border is hand-doodled.  I pulled out the glitter pens and glaze pens for this one...ornaments sparkle and shine, right??

TwinksMy last card for you this morning is using images from the new North Pole set and the tree from last months Sugarplums Christmas Scenery set.  Christine sent me some digi-images of Twinks the elf and I've had this card to show you guys for like forever!  I'm glad she decided to go ahead and make him into a set...he is soooo cute!

BUT...she is also releaseing some new digi-images tonight as well...some adorable angels...I will have samples of those later today along with my Forest Friends samples that I never uploaded (sorry!)

so, thats it for now on my catchup...I will be back later!  -Cyndi

Penguin-cupcakeI finally found some more stamping time today and I have gotten a lot done...yipee!!  I have 2 more cards to show you now...both using the new Cupcake Occasions set by Cookie Crumbs, illustrated by Diane Zechman.  For the first one I used the penguin cupcake topper cause it matched this cute paper I had!  The card layout is based on Beate's WSCfrom last week (I think).  The sentiment is from one of Amy R's new sets.

Polka-dot-cupcake  The other card uses my favorite top from the set...the polka dots!!  I colored it in to match the last scraps of some Heidi Grace paper that I had (still on the red/green/pink kick).  The layout is using Lauren's sketch from this last Saturday.  I stamped the cupcake, then cut it out and popped it up on the white bg.

For more eye candy using this fun set head to the All That Scraps blog, and for a chance to win this set head over to Diane's blog!  I will have more peeks for you tomorrow...with another all new set by Jen Olfiana...think cute, animals, woods...

A little Pink cat told me...

That Pink Cat Studio is having a new release today!!  I have been ignoring my Pink Cat Studio stamps lately...so sad.  I LOVE all the images but I have been so busy with other stuff.  So they kept calling me this week and I decided to take on the challenge that Melissa set for the Pink Cat Studio DT on the Pink Cat blog...a Christmas card with non-traditional colors.  Hey, thats right down my alley!  Meowy-christmas

So this image is from the first set that I bought from Pink Cat Studio...cat plate 1.  I pulled out some of my new KI Memories paper for color inspiration...and I really adore pink and red together, especially for Christmas!  After I colored my kitty, I added a bunch of bling with my Candy Cane stickles to all the hats and bows :)

And I had the perfect color of buttons that I picked up from my LSS last month...so I layered them and added some white hemp to the center.  The ribbon is also from KI, but from a line a couple of years back...but hey, it matches perfect!

  • Stamps: Cat Plate 1 (Pink Cat STudio)

  • Paper: Festive (KI Memories); Basic Black, Whisper White (SU!)

  • Accessories: buttons (stash); Candy Cane glitter (Stickles); Alpine ribbon (KI Memories), markers (Copic)

Birds-of-a-featherHere's another one for you, but you better grab some shades...it is BRIGHT!!  I used this week color challenge from SCS...Kiwi Kiss, Pixie Pink, and Tangerine Tango...yowzers!!  LOVE it!!  I used and image from Q.T. Hooty Owl plate and Jen del Muro's SFYTT this week.  (I also wanted some more green in my images so I added some "leaves" to the limb using the halo stamp from Dress Up Lily:)

Unity Addicts Challenge

Its Wednesday and time for another UnityAddicts challenge!  This week our challenger picker extraordinaire was Lisa Hetrick and she chose an inspiration challenge with some to die for plates!   You can view the photo of the plates and the details for the challenge at the Unity SCS forum...please join us!  In the meantime, my eye candy for you is below and if you want to do a bit of blog hopping go visit my fellow Unity addicts at their blogs---->on the right sidebar!

Gratitude

Here is what I came up with using the blue peacock looking plate as inspiration.  The feathers reminded me of the leaves from the Unity set Floral Fantastical, and then I added some flowers from the same set where the puffs were on the plate.  I stuck somewhat close to the colors, but really wanted to use my Shimmerz paints to imitate the shiny enamel of the plates, so I colored the leaves, flowers, and butterfly all with Celery and Buttercream Shimmerz....so pretty!! (Everything was colored before I added the Simmerz with my Prismacolor pencils to add some depth and contrast)

My butterfly needed a bit of somun-someun, so I gave her a trail using my paper-piercing tool and mat, then added a bit more of the piercing in the lower corner.  More coming at you later today...so check back!   And don't forget that tomorrow is HIP HOP Thursday, starting at the Unity blog :) Happy Hump Day!  -Cyndi

  • Supplies:

  • Stamps: Floral Fantastical (Unity)

  • Paper: Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Pacific Point (SU!); white (PTI)

  • Ink: Palette Noir; Pacific Point (SU!)

  • Accessories: double end tag die (SPellbinders) ; Doodlie-doo brad (SEI); paper piercer & mat, olive ribbon (SU!); Prismacolor pencils; baby oil; blending stump; Celery & Buttercream paint (Shimmerz)

November Release Sneak Peeks

Soccer-brandon Its finally time to start the peeks for All That ScrapsNovember stamps release!!  I have had lots of fun with All the new sets...and there are a BUNCH this month ladies!  Today I am previewing Stampin' Spot STudio singles to be released at ATS.  Jen drew another adorable Sadie this month...plus her buddy Brandon, and they are the most precious little soccer players!

I was so excited that I still had soccer pics that I hadn't scrapped and this little guy was just perfect!  I made a journaling block with him on it, adding a border with some doddling to this and all white mats.   The stars on the background page were made with the star from the Sugarplums Snetiments set, and the little soccer balls I just stamped extra Brandons and cut out just the ball.

Celebrating Halloween with some Christmas cards :)

Happy Halloween!  I hate to admit it, but I am kind of sick of the Halloween cards and treats :(  So I did a couple of Christmas Challenges for today instead!  Wojmonday6The first card is for the Whiff of Joy Challnge blog...this weeks challenge was to use red and green.  I pulled out Whiff of JoyCharlotte riding her adorable reindeer which I haven't stamped in a while and made her all nice and sparkly!  I used some of the 6x6 Figgy paper from Basic Grey that I still have from last year and paired it with Riding Hood Red and Always Artichoke...not really bright enough for me...but I have to get out of my box some.

The poinsettia flowers are by Making Memories, and I added some stickles to them and to the brads in their centers....as well as to the brad that I added to my ribbon and Charlotte's earmuffs :)  I got to use some of my Spellbinders dies again...the double end tag and my brackets that shamefully had never been out of the package :(  The sentiment is from one of Amy R Stampsnewest sets...Christmas Sentiments.

  • Supplies:

  • Stamps: Charlotte and Reindeer (Whiff of Joy); Christmas Sentiments (Amy R Stamps)

  • Paper: Always Artichoke, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip (SU!); white (PTI); Figgy (Basic Grey)

Amyr-ornaments Here's another Christmas card for you, this one using the other 2 new sets that Amy Rjust released at All That Scrapsthis week!  The ornaments were created with the Build a Holiday set....it is absolutely perfect for paper-piecing....Amy was reading our minds!!  I stamped the circles on different pieces of the Figgy paper, then the tops on some goldish tone Figgy paper and adhered them both to the squares.  Finally I added a touch of stickles to the ornaments.  (This card is based on the SCS sketch this week)

The greeting is actually one that is meant for the inside...thus the name of the set...Christmas Card verses, but I wanted something bigger for this card so I put it on the front.  And let me tell you...this is THE set you have ALWAYS wanted!  How many times have you looked for the right sentiment for the inside when addressing and filling out Christmas cards?  Forever!  But no longer!  The set is here and it rocks!!  Click HEREto see the sets.  AND they are on sale today!!

So happy haunting tonight and have a great weekend!  Thanks for visiting!  -Cyndi

Whiff of Joy Challenge #5

Here is my card for Heather's sketch for the Whiff of Joy challenge blog  week.  What an awesome sketch and I had so much fun inking up one of my new Charlie stamps:)  Charlie-&-presentsI used Santa Charlie  and paired him with my new My Minds Eye be Merry pattern paper that I picked up at All That Scraps.   I adore all of my Whiff of Joy  images, but this one really reminds me of my 5 year old son Michael for some reason!  Seems like he would just climb right into a bag of presents if the opprotunity presented itself :)

I colored Charlie in with my copics...then stamped him again...cutting out just Charlie and raising him up and then the present again and raised it up some more...the paper toleing technique.  Looks like he's really sitting ON the bag!  The cs is then distresseda lot with Desert Sand ink to make it work with the PP...it wasn't really white or cream to begin with. The sentiment I cut out with my brand-spankin new Spellbinders tag die!!  LOVE THEM!!

Don't forget to stop in tomorrow for the Unity blog hop...I issued the challenge this week!!  and please say hi today...be nice I will have awesome blog candy for you at the end of the week!  -Cyndi

Triple Challenge card

Amy-R-holly  Here's another peek for you of the new Amy R Stamps being released on Monday at All That Scraps...3 new sets by designer extraordinaire Amy Rysavy!  The "holly" is from the same set that I showed you some of yesterday...."Build a Holiday" and the sentiment is from the set "Christmas Sentiments"...this is like a one-stop shopping trip for Christmas sentiments (and just wait to see the other set tomorrow!!!) there are tons of combinations...but my favs are the large words that Amy included in the set like Peace... Gorgeous!

For this card I took on a bunch of challenges this week at Splitcoast....this weeks color challenge (CC189: Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss & Chocolate Chip), Ways to Use It (WT189: Just one) and Limiteed Supplies (LSC191: Leaf it to me).  Wow!!  The layout is simply a matter of using the scraps of the Bella Rose DSP that I had :)  The border I created with my scallop border punch and a 1/8" hole punch.

Don't forget to hop over to the ATS blog to see what the rest of the DT created with this set, and to enter to win a FREE stamp set!  while you are at it don't miss  Amy's samples with her own sets...they are too awesome to not check out!!  -Cyndi

New Amy R Stamps coming soon!

Amy-R-snowman Amy Rysavyis at it again...new sets are being released at All That Scraps this Monday night!!  There are 3 of them and they are all MUST haves!  The first one that we are previewing today is "Build a Holiday"...tons of small shapes to build a snowman, ornaments, presents, trees, reindeer, poinsettia...and I am sure there are many more combinations too!!

Be sure to head over to the All That Scraps Blogto see some more eye candy from the DT and to leave a comment for your chance to win this set for your own!!

This set was a ton of fun to play with and I look forward to playing with it LOTS more!  For my first card I made a snowman and got to use my new fun Frosty Day PP from SU!  With the magic of a little basic masking this snowman is super easy to put together!  I also used part of his body to make the outline for the sentiment tag.  (The words are a peek of more to come, hehe)

  • Supplies:

  • Stamps: Build a Holiday, Christmas Sentiments (Amy R Stamps)

  • Paper: Frosty Day PP, tangerine Tango, Close to Cocoa. White (SU!)

  • Ink: Palette Noir

  • Accessories: circle punches, blue taffeta ribbon, paper piercer & mat, dimensionals (SU!); markers (copic)

AmyR-reindeer For my next card I tried to think outside the box a bit...I was looking at the snowmans arms thinking....hmm, antlers??  My reindeer is  a little kiddish  looking, but it reminds me of the cute crayon Christmas set from SU! a few years back.  This will just have to be a card for a child!  I added a few trees to the scene (which I may take off...its just not quite right).  The sentiment is stamped directly on the PP and I added a strip with the old Snowflake Cuttlebug folder.  and of course he needed a red nose!!
